Hello all,

Life has been crazy and I have not posted photos or updates for so long. Kolton just turned 3 and is growing so fast. He had his 3 year check up and the Dr. is predicting he will be well over 6 feet tall by the time he is done growing. Life gets crazy but I can't imagine my life without my family in it. Kaylee will be turning 5 next week and from where we started with her every day is a blessing from God, I truely have a miracle child. I love working in Seward and not driving so much. The kids love the new preschool and life is good!!!

Loos family update

Hello all,
We finally have Kaylee on the mend after a nasty ear infection that took 2 antibiotics and now on allergy/asthma meds. Now Kolt spiked a fever tonight hopefully it is gone in the morning. Some of you may know others don't but after much though and anguish I have taken a job in Seward at a new childcare center that is opening in Aug as an assistant director/infant teacher I get to teach and manage 2 things I have come to like very well. I really like the lady opening in the center and feel like it is a good fit for me. I am sad to leave La Petite but I had to do what I though was right for the whole family and know Kaylee can got to school in Seward next fall and make friends with kids around here. We never felt like we were ever at home and when the opportunity came up I felt I had to jump on it. Wish me luck and hope the kids adjust well. Summer is going by so fast. We were in KS at Grandma and Grandpa Starners and the kids had a blast swimming at going to the petting zoo and shopping. Grandpa Starner now has a new name according to my kids he is now pops. They are rather funny. I will have photos from the weekend up soon!!!

Hello all,
Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. I willg et new photos up soon. JOsh is back from Overseas and has been for a little over a month and we have been doing lots of fishing and outdoor stuff so I am not on the computer as much. We picked our first produce out of the garden tonigth and the cucumbers were yummy. Kolt is working on potty training we have moved him inot underwear during the day and he is doing so good with it. Look for new pictures soon.

We spent the weekend in Olathe, Ks at Grandma and Grandpa Starner's house. The kids had a blast!!

The kids enojyed the day at the zoo. Kaylee was disappointed that the butterfly pavilion wasn't open yet and Kolt was sad the crockadile was still inside b/c it was too cold. We got free ice cream and free train rides so the kids were happy and when the kids are happy so is Mom.

The March for Babies this year was a rather wet one. They actually cancelled the walk right before start time. We still got to see our friends and dance to some cool tunes. The kids had fun.

Kaylee loves helping water the garden, so far we only have cucumbers and carrots planted but when it is time we will add tomatoes, watermelon and strawberries. Kaylee also wants corn on the cob but we will see!

The Easter bunny brought the kids stuffed animals from build a bear workshop. Kaylee got a bear in an Army uniform and Kolt got a puppy in an Army uniform. They both loved them.

Kolt liked to wrestle his and he just giggled every time. He will be a handful he loves to wrestle and fight daddy so we are working on taming that down a notch.

Kolt had no problems with the Easter egg hunt he went straight for them and got a ton. Kaylee on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it and there are no pictures of her doing it either. Grandma Loos tried to help but Kaylee refused and Grandma was the only one picking them up for her basket. She is a very stubborn independent little girl and I am OK with that after after everything she has done and master in spite of being born early.

We currently have no grass we just have dirt so around here we dig in the dirt Loos style. We pick a spot that has dried out and isn't too muddy and we dig and if you are Kolton you also throw and get covered in dirt. He even ate some spit it out and kept going. Yearly Kolton update

Kolton had his annual check up today for his reflux. We actually got good news. He has started to outgrow it. The doctor downgraded his reflux from a grade 4 to a grade 3. We are excited about this news b/c this is the first time it has decreased. Just wanted to update everyone and we are all optimistic that he will outgrow this as time goes by.

Kids loved the snow. Should have kept Kolt inside. He had a coughing spell after we came inside but the cold air does help the airways a bit. He is still coughing a lot but seems to be improving everyday. For those who haven't heard he got pnemonia and double ear infection this week and we are now healing. Kaylee is starting to cough so hopefully we do not have round 2 with her but we will see. Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day

The kids had a wonderful Christmas, the both loved the play kitchen they got from Santa and are doing a good job sharing it. They love the new house and so do we. House Update

We finally have good news. Our house is done and all the other issues associated with it have been resolved. We are moving in next Saturday the 20th. SO yes I get to be in by Chrsitmas and yes it willbe a crazy mess. I am very excited and stressed but we are headed in the right direction. We have already sent our letter to Santa telling him to please bring presents to our new house. Kaylee is really confused and doesn't understand what moving all means so that will be a fun transition. We hope everyone has a great week and a Merry Christmas. I probably will not get any new stuff up till after X-mas with the move and events for the holiday but I will get the x-mas photos of the kids and new house up as soon as I can!!

We attempted to create a gingerbread house. We all had fun but it was not structurally sound, so good thing we were not building our own house. HAHAHA!! The side walls fell in a bit but it is still standing and the kids love looking at it. I had my holiday party for work that day so the kids got to hang out with daddy for the afternoon and they were all playing Playstation Football when I got home. Kaylee really loved it which surprised me and Kolt go mad b/c he didn't know what to push and Kaylee kept yelling at him. She is bossy and yes she probably learned that from me!!!!

House update

For those who are wondering we are still waiting to get into our house. We are waiting out some legal issues and then will be in the clear. We have to wait till at least Dec for the legal stuff to be resolved and then we can move forward faster. They are still working on stuff and the constructon in continuing and it is looking very nice but we probably will not be in for this Holiday season but should be able to start the new year right and get moved in. We are going out tomorrow to see my new fridge installed and the basement is drywalled and the porch railing is up so I can't wait to see it. I will add new photos of the house once I get them. HAve a great weekend!

Preemie Halloween party

On Sunday the 26th we had Kaylee's preemie Halloween party at the hospital and they got to decorate their onw pumpkin. We also got to see one of our favorite nurses when we visited the NICU. Our favorite night nurse Tammy was working and we were all very happy to see eachother. Tammy couldn't believe how big she has gotten.

They are getting ready to do the dirt work around the house and hopefully things will get moving faster. All the walls are framed in the basement so they need to hang drywall. Josh is getting started on some flooring here soon. Hopefully they will put in the big window seats in the living room and master bedroom so we can see how much light will come though and what the walls really will look like. We still do not have a move in date but hopefully before Thanksgiving!! We would love to celebrate the Holiday's at our new house.

House Move

Our house finally moved out to Seward. They moved it on Wednesday and spent the rest of the week sliding it on the foundationa nd setting and securing the house to the foundation. We are headed out today to see it on the foundationa nd will all more photos later.

This was the corner going into the circle we will live on that I didn't think they would be able to get through but they had to use a special trailor that they do not usually use just for this corner. They could independantly steer the back wheels of the trailor and after they took the street sign out and some tree limbs they made it through just fine. I was finally able to breathe a little better after they cleared that point

This is sitting right in front of the foundation and it was a long day and started to rain so they supported it and were coming back to finish up in the days to follow. Finally one big step closer to being done!!

Gymnastics

Kaylee loved gymnastics and her teacher was really good with her. It took awhile for her to warm up but then she had fun and did better than Josh and I thought she would. The pictures are hard to see b/c I took them through the glass but if you click on them and make them bigger it is easier to see her. She is laying across the semi circle think on the top picture.

On a second note we were suppose to get our house moved today but Mother Nature had other plans and it was too wet in Seward with the weekend rains and today's rain. We are now shooting for Wednesday if it dries out enough. They have it loaded and ready to move just waiting on the weather now. Will update as that happens.

I am sad to report I got rid of the Tahoe. My dream car had to go with gas prices so high and our move to Seward (hopefully this year) We now have a GMC Acadia it is nice and we like it just not as well as the Tahoe but amazingly it's roomier on the inside and rides nice. The kids like it. On a nother sad note our house has still not been moved, hopefully we will light a fire under them and get it done. I have added photos of the countertops. That is the only new thing that has been done from previous photos. I also added a few of the kids withour new car.

House update

We will all be so HAPPY when we are done with the house. It is suppose to be moved on site this Wednesday so look for new photos if they finally get it there. The basement is completed and the tar is on the lower portion and we have an address now. I went to the house yesterday and the counter tops were installed and they look awesome. I forgot the camera so I will get that when we go back with Josh. We are very close but yet a lot has to be done. I am ready to be done so I will not be so stressed but there is always something so we will just go with the flow for now. Hope everyone had a great weekend the weather has been great here we even have windows open today.

We were so glad to get to hang out with Krissie and her girls. They were back for our 10 year High School reunion, yeah it really has been that long. I feel very old these days but I know I have a long way to go also. I wish we all lived closer together but we just enjoy the times we get to see each other. Here are the sprinkler photos. Kaylee wanted to be like her brother and daddy let her, luckily we have a fence. They had so much fun running up to it and getting out before it got them. Most of the time they were not fast enough but it was fun. They found the sand box afterwards so they hit the shower before bed. This is how we get them to wash the play dishes at our house.

We fianlly made it to the zoo and the kids had so much fun. The butterfly pavillion was the best. They had a ton of butterflies and the flowers were so pretty. The kids love looking at all the animals and the monkeys were rather vocal that day and one was licking the glass so my money Kolton imitated the monkey to a tee and luckily was not able to get close enough to the glass to actually lick it but he tried.

We have been slacking lately. Life has been so crazy with the insanity of building our new house. Josh is out of town this weekend so I am playing catchup finally. I should be in bed but I am enjoying the quiet house now that both monsters are sleeping! Kaylee is finally enjoying water which you will also later see in some photos with the sprinkler. Kolt has no fear and falls face first in the pool and scares mom to death, but he just giggles.

We went to the house this weekend and we were so excited. They had finished the painting and well lets just say I was very nervous about the colors I picked out from a small paint sample but I was relieved and happy with how it turned out. They had the cabinets setting in the kitchen and that also made me feel better I first thought it would be way to small when I saw it but after the cabinets were there and I could picture it I like it much more. I am a visual person so it is had for me to know what I like or how it will turn out untill it is done so building this house has been a challenge and stressful so I am glad we are almost done. They say we should be able to move in by late September. A little later than we wanted but at least it will be finished. They have the foundation poured and the basement walls will go up this week. We went to look at the land in Seward today and it looks so differnt know that stuff is going up. The purple room is Kaylee's and the cool blue room is Kolton's room. Kaylee now says she likes her room she used to want to have Kolton's room but now she thinks she will take the purple one. They colres turned out better than I thought they would especially for the kids rooms.

House update July 6, 08

They are finished drywalling and have the ceilings textured already. I can't wait for the cabinets to come in and get installed so I can see more of how it will look. We are getting very excited. They are starting on the foundation and basement on Monday, yeah!!! We sent today painitng some of the house we have now getting it ready to put up for sale. I am sure Josh loved spending his b-day painting but he was a trooper and ya have to do it when you have the help, thanks G-ma and G-pa Starner!!!

These are not the most recent of the house but we forgot the camera when we went to see it this weekend. They were drywalling as we showed up on saturday they have the bathrooms done and most of the bedroom but they have the kitchen and living area left. They said they hope to have it all drywalled and mudded by this week but we will see the plumbing crew held them up so we will chech again next weekend. They have moved it outside for now b/c it is shingled for the most part and siding is done. They gave us a key so we can go see it on our time now. Hoping they get moving on site work as far as we know they have not strted digging the foundation. Hope everyone had a great week.

New House

For those of you who do not know we have choosen Vantage Pointe to build our house. They build the main floor in their factory and then move it to the foundation on site. They are completely done with framing and it is getting drywalled this week. These are a few of the photos we took last week when we went to see it. The kids loved running from one end to the other. The big object behind us in the one photo is our corner fireplace. We will post new photos when we go out again. The building permit issues have been resolved and once it finally dries out a little then can start digging and get the foundation started.

We all had a great weekend at the lake. Mom is the only one now paying for a weekend in the sun but doing better. Just the shoulders and legs are red. Josh and the kids are just more tan than when we started. Kaylee and Grandpa are the only ones that caught any fish with one each so not a productive weekend. March for Babies 4/27/2008

We had a great day for the walk this year. Started off a little cool but wasn't too bad. Kaylee enjoyed seeing all her friends again and so did mommy. We have gotten attached to a lot of these families and preemies. Kolton enjoyed just being outside. He hate to come in from playing. He got to move to the toddler room and they go out twice a day so he is in heaven. The kidos got haircuts today and Kolton looks so big now.

Kolton update

Sorry I forgot to update about Kolton and his appointment he had with his urologist. He repeated the test for his kidney reflux and it can back the same. There was a very slight improvement but he will continue antibiotic therapy for another year and repeat test again next year. Kolton was very upset with the ultrasound tech and the nurses helping with his VCUG, he had to be strapped down and he was pissed. He was very glad when it was all done and we could snuggle. He has till age 5 to outgrow it before they do surgery unless he gets Urinary tract infections that are resistant to the antibiotics they are using then they will proceed with surgery sooner. For those that do not remember he has Reflux of his right kidney, he has 2 tubes leading from the right kidney to the bladder. This results in urine going back up to the kidney which can bring unwanted bacteria back up to the kidneys. So we will continue the yummy cherry nigh night meds, luckily he does really good taking meds. We just want to outgrow it so he doesn't have to have another surgery, one in a life time is more than enough!!!

Kolton was not very cooperative but we put hair clips on his pants and he held mostly still while trying to get them off and we got it cut. It took us awhile to convince Daddy to let us do it but he looks so much better now. No more shaggy dog look for Kolton.

Hello all,
Kolton has gotten yet another ear infection and they can not get the fluid to go away in his left ear so we went to an ENT yesterday and he decided he things tubes in both ears would benifit him. He has also not been adding many new words to his normal 3 lately and that is a concern for me. The ENT will be placing tubes in his ears on March 4th. Minor outpatient procedure that only takes 1 day to recover. Will let you know more if anythign comes up.
Kaylee is doing good, STILL working on potty training and she has this nausty hack that only appears in the middle of the night. Hopefully we are almost done with it though it is getting a little better.

Kaylee had a great birthday. She had cupcakes at La Petite with her friends, we went to Rib Ranch for dinner she loves chicken and then she got to open her presents when we got home. She got a big My Little pony that changes colors with cold water and then some color bath beads that change the bath water to colors.

Kaylee had a great birthday. Her father and I are amazed by her everyday and are very glad to have these past 3 years. We had many times were we were not sure how long we would get and this time of year is always very hard on me. The emotions are mixed but we know we are very blessed. This kidos had a great time at Kyle and Megan's for Thanksgiving. Kolton was a little under the weather at the time but since then he has stopped throwing up everyday and is sleeping through the night at least he has the past two nights. We were all getting very tired and cranky. The doctor said it was just a virus and to wait it out and it finally has ended. Both kidos are feeeling good for a change.

She is such a ham. Her toddler bed was creaky and noisy and kept waking her up so we got her a big comfy bed. She loves to jump on it even when she is not suppose to. She is very defiant these days.

Sorry it took so long to get their Halloween photos up we have been busy and the kidos have been sick. They went back to the doctor today and Kaylee is in the begining stages of pnemonia and Kolton tested positive for RSV, so they are on house arrest for the next couple days. Kaylee loved being a nurse for halloween and Kolton didn't mind the puppy costume for the most part. He liked playing with the tail on it.

It has been awhile since I have updated but it has been busy around here. Josh is making big changes downstairs and it is framed and the electric is done except for one room. Can't wait till it is finished and things are not so messy around here. Kolton loves to move and gets anywhere fast. He follows Kaylee everywhere ans she things that is fun. They play weel together and get into trouble well also.

These two are growing up way too fast. Both are fianlly healthy and Kolton is really loving all the new foods he is getting to eat. HE loved Fruits and Veggies. He also loves crackers.He is weighing in at about 20 pounds and is 27 1/4 inches long. He is about the same weight of Kaylee and she is only 35 inches long so they are very clothes. They wear the same size diapers and some of the same clothes. She wears some of his shorts.

Both Kaylee and Kolton loved the fireworks, neither of them were scared. Kaylee had more fun playing in Lauren's power wheels jeep than watching fireworks. She is growing up so fast and is very independant these days.

Kolton gets his 6 month shots this week and I am nervous b/c he has been sick on and off since his 4 month shots and they caused his issue that he had to have surgery for so we will see how it goes. An intussusception is a situation in which a part of the intestine has prolapsed into another section of intestine, similar to the way in which the parts of a collapsible telescope slide into one another.[1] The part which prolapses into the other is called the intussusceptum, and the part which receives it is called the intussuscipiens. The most frequent type of intussusception is one in which the ileum enters the cecum, however other types are known to occur, such as when a part of the ileum or jejunum prolapses into itself. Almost all intussusceptions occur with the intussusceptum having been located proximally to the intussuscipiens. The reason for this is that peristaltic action of the intestine pulls the proximal segment into the distal segment. There are, however, rare reports of the opposite being true.
Intussusception in humans is almost exclusively a disease of the young, usually those between 2 months and 36 months old. It occurs more frequently in boys than in girls, with a ratio of approximately 3:1.[2]
In adults, intussusception represents the cause of approximately 1% of bowel obstructions and is frequently associated with neoplasm, malignant or otherwise.[3]

Early symptoms can include nausea, bilious vomiting, pulling legs to the chest area, and intermittent moderate to severe cramping abdominal pain. Later signs include rectal bleeding, often with red currant jelly stool (stool mixed with blood and mucus), and lethargy. Physical examination may reveal a sausage-shaped mass felt upon palpation of the abdomen.
In children too young to communicate their symptoms verbally, they may cry, draw their knees up to their chest or experience dyspnea with paroxsyms of pain.
Fever is not a symptom of intussusception. However, intussusception can cause a loop of bowel to become necrotic. This leads to perforation and sepsis, which causes fever.

Intussusception is often suspected based on history and physical exam, including observation of Dance's sign. Per rectal examination is particularly helpful in children as part of the intussusceptum may be felt by the finger. An x-ray, ultrasound, or computerized tomography of the abdomen may demonstrate the problem, or in the most critical cases the child may be taken to the operating room immediately to repair whatever is causing the problem, be it intussusception or some other problem.

When the condition is not immediately life-threatening, the intussusception is usually treated with either a barium enema or an air-contrast enema, which both confirms the diagnosis of intussusception, and in most cases successfully reduces it. The success rate is over 80%. However approximately 10% of these recur within 24 hours.
If it cannot be reduced by an enema or if the intestine is damaged, then a surgical reduction is necessary. In a surgical reduction, the abdomen is opened and the part that has telescoped in is pulled out manually by the surgeon or if the surgeon is unable to successfully reduce it or the bowel is damaged, the affected section will be resected. Often, the intussusception can be reduced by laparoscopy, whereby the segments of intestine are pulled apart by forceps.

Intussusception is a medical emergency, as it will eventually cause death if not reduced. When an intussusception or any other severe medical problem is suspected, the person must be taken to a hospital immediately.
The outlook for intussusception is excellent when treated quickly, and when untreated it leads to death within 2–5 days. Fast treatment is a necessity, because the longer the intestine segment is prolapsed the longer it goes without bloodflow, and the less effective a non-surgical reduction will be. Prolonged intussusception also increases the likelihood of bowel ischemia and necrosis, requiring surgical resection.
Intussusception has been recorded with porphyria. Since neurovisceral porphyrias (acute intermittent porphyria, hereditary coproporphyria and variegate porphyria) have been associated with severe gut dysmotility and vasospastic bowel infarction physicians should be on high alert for porphyrias in cases of intussusception.

On Tuesday Kolton was admitted to the hospital for indeception of the colon. Basically the lining of his colon was folding in on itself. It had to be repaired surgically and they took his appendix out also. He spent 4 days in the hospital and was released on Saturday. He is doing much better and is a lot happier lately. Kaylee is very happy to have him back at home. The Loos family is hoping to be done with hospitals for a long time.

Kolton got baptized on May 19, 2007 He was very attentive and watched the pastor very closely. When they talked about teaching him stuff he shook his head no. It was kinda funny.

Hello,
Sorry we have not added photos for awhile. Kolton did get baptized this past weekend and everything went good. He listened to the pastor the entire time. We have new photos but Kolton has been sick lately and we are still trying to figure out what is going on with him. He has been throwing up and not keeping anything down but that has gotten better this morning. He is running a low grade temp and we are headed back to the pediatrician today again. We spent 3 hours at St. E's ER and got no answers at all. Hopefuly we can get him feeling better today. Check back soon for new photos.

Kaylee got spoiled as usual for Easter. SHe had fun looking for eggs, it took her awhile to realize she could pick them up and then when she realized there was candy in them she was all excited for that she loves candy. She had a visit from the Easter bunny at daycare and she didn't like that at all.
